Mount Sinai Sunrise Trek

Embark on a spiritual and physical journey to the summit of one of the world's most sacred mountains. Depart Dahab late at night and drive through the Sinai darkness to St. Catherine's village at the base of Mount Sinai. At around 2:00 AM, begin your ascent with a Bedouin guide along the well-trodden Camel Path. The trek takes approximately 2.5 hours under a canopy of stars that seems impossibly bright in the clear desert air. Near the summit, climb the final 750 Steps of Repentance — stone stairs carved by monks centuries ago. At the 2,285-meter summit, bundle up against the cold and wait for the magic. As the sun rises, the entire Sinai mountain range transforms from deep purple to blazing gold and red, revealing a landscape of incredible rugged beauty stretching to the horizon. Descend and visit St. Catherine's Monastery, one of the oldest continuously operating Christian monasteries in the world, home to the Burning Bush and an extraordinary collection of ancient manuscripts.
